W 2014 roku wzrosła w Niemczech liczba aktów przemocy wobec uchodźców i tendencja ta utrzymuje się w 2015 r. Statystyki opublikowane przez Antonio Amadeu Stiftung i PRO ASYL wskazują, że do połowy kwietnia tego roku miało miejsce 25 ataków na ośrodki recepcyjne dla uchodźców, 25 ataków na uchodźców oraz 41 demonstracji przeciwko uchodźcom. Ostatnim przykładem jest podpalenie budynku w Tröglitz, który miał być przeznaczony na ośrodek dla uchodźców.
