Przeciętny wynik w 2016 roku to tylko 43 punkty, co wskazuje na endemiczną korupcję w sektorze publicznym. Dania i Nowa Zelandia zdobyły 90 punktów zajmując czołowe miejsce w rankingu, a siedem z dziesięciu krajów z najlepszym wynikiem to kraje europejskie.
