Były prezydent Rumunii Ion Iliescu i 13 innych osób zostało oskarżonych o zbrodnie przeciwko ludzkości, w związku ze stłumieniem antyrządowych demonstracji w Bukareszcie w 1990 r. Do pomocy w stłumieniu protestów Iliescu wezwał 10 tys. uzbrojonych górników. Według prokuratury w trakcie operacji zginęły co najmniej cztery osoby, 1380 zostało rannych, a 1250 nielegalnie aresztowano. Akt oskarżenia obejmuje także ówczesnego premiera i dyrektora wywiadu krajowego.
