W 2015 roku pomoc dla młodzieży stanie się w Holandii obowiązkiem gmin. Pierwszy gminny rzecznik praw dziecka został powołany w Rotterdamie i jest nią Anne Mieke Zwaneveld. Mieszkańcy tego portowego miasta w razie trudności w opiece nad dziećmi mogą zwrócić się do niej o pomoc. “W razie potrzeby będziemy podejmować działania, aby upewnić się, że gmina i inne organizacje szanują prawa dzieci”, stwierdza Zwaneveld. Jej zdaniem to zaszczyt, że oprócz swojej dotychczasowej pracy rzecznika praw miejskich została także rzecznikiem dzieci.
