Praw Człowieka, Zeid Ra'ad Al Hussein, ostrzega przed “dyskryminacją i uprzedzeniem” wobec wszystkich muzułmanów w odpowiedzi na tę tragedię. Zdaniem komisarza, postawą taką ułatwiłoby się zadanie terrorystom, tworząc jeszcze większe podziały religijne i społeczne. “Jestem bardzo zaniepokojony tym, że w obliczu narastających w Europie nastrojów antymigracyjnych i ksenofobii, ten straszny i dokonany z zimną krwią akt będzie wykorzystywany przez wszelkiego rodzaju ekstremistów” - powiedział komisarz.
