Europejski Trybunał Praw Człowieka stwierdził naruszenie Artykułu 3 (zakaz nieludzkiego i poniżającego traktowania) i Artykułu 14 (zakaz dyskryminowania) Europejskiej Konwencji Praw Człowieka w sprawie Abdu v. Bułgaria. Sprawa dotyczy rasistowskiego ataku jaki miał miejsce w Sofii w roku 2007. Grupa skinheadów zaatakowała obywateli Sudanu mieszkających w Bułgarii. Prokuratura odmówiła wszczęcia postępowania.
