D'ora in poi WhatsApp condividerà i dati con Facebook. L'Autorità per la Protezione dei Dati Olandese pone due problemi: gli utenti leggono che WhatsApp vuole condividere il loro numero privato solo dopo aver cliccato su "leggi di più" nella notifica che chiede il consenso per le nuove condizioni di privacy. Inoltre gli utenti possono cambiare idea e decidere di non condividere i dati solo entro 30 giorni.
