Prima di consentire alla polizia e ad altri enti di intercettare cellulari e archivi dati su internet nel Regno Unito, occorre istituire un nuovo organismo di monitoraggio indipendente, lo ha annunciato l'Home Office. Il quale si è detto daccordo ad introdurre nuove tutele dopo che la Corte di Giustizia Europea ha definito illegale la 'snooper charter' nella sua forma attuale. Un nuovo Ufficio per le Autorizzazioni sulle Comunicazioni dei Dati sarà introdotto con il compito di valutare le richieste da parte della polizia e di altri organismi pubblici.
