I dati personali finiscono alle società di marketing attraverso i cookie immessi illegalmente. Secondo Aleid Wolfsen dell'Autorità per la Protezione dei Dati si tratta di violazione dei diritti umani. "Chiunque deve essere libero di navigare in internet senza essere spiato. Lo dicono la Costituzione e i Trattati Europei." L'appartenenza politica è un dato particolarmente sensibile, secondo Wolfsen.
