There is likely to be a ban on veils covering the face in Dutch schools, hospitals, public transport and government buildings. With a new law, the government aims to set a clear norm in society. In public buildings everyone should show their face, for safety reasons and because it enables a better service to customers. Insiders say "open communication" that suits the Dutch society will become possible because of it. Under the law, those who cover their face with a burkha are guilty of an offense and risk getting a fine.
