Last week an extraordinary Synod of Bishops on the Family started in Rome. A radical change of course for the Vatican becomes visible from an official but not yet final document. The Catholic Church will open its doors to homosexuals, unmarried Catholics who live together as well as Catholics who are divorced but want to remarry or would like to participate in other religious ceremonies. Pope Francis initiated this process last year by inviting church leaders and believers from all over the world to tell them how to deal with issues such as cohabitation, divorce and homosexuality.
