At least 170,000 anti-Semitic Google searches are made in the UK every year, a new study shows. Roughly 10% of the searches involve violent phrases such as “Jews must die” or “kill Jews”. The study, conducted by the Community Security Trust, showed that the majority of searches are for jokes against Jewish people, often ones that perpetuate common stereotypes. It also found that people are still interested in long-held conspiracy theories, like the Rothschild family secretly running the world. The study is based on data from Google from the past 14 years, from 2004 to 2018.
