A 54-year-old man who set himself on fire on October 19 has died from his injuries. Before Piotr set fire to himself, next to Warsaw's Palace of Culture, he had distributed a letter to passers-by explaining his desire to protest against the government's restrictions on civil liberties and control of the judiciary. The letter said that the ruling Law and Justice party would have his "blood on their hands".
