Open Society Foundations (OSF) is leaving Budapest as a consequence of the longstanding smear campaign against itself and its founder, philanthropist George Soros. The organization’s declared goal is to support equal opportunities, the rights and liberties of people, public health and independent media. OSF has operated in Hungary since 1984 and spent around 400 million USD since then. The head of OSF, Patrick Gaspard, announced that they will move from Budapest to Berlin, affecting around 100 employees.
