The Italian Court of Cassation has declared that a compensation payment of 20,000 euros is too small for a young man who had his license suspended for being openly gay. He faced strong discrimination after declaring his homosexuality during routine tests prior to joining the military. An army official forwarded this information to the state authority for motor vehicles, which then suspended the man's license.
