With a group of EU member states, the Netherlands wants to force a solution on the refugee crisis. From this spring, migrants arriving to Greece from Turkey should be sent back by ferry. The Turkish are willing to take the migrants back if an extensive legal migration path to Europe is created. MP Diederik Samson (Dutch Labor) mentions 150,000 up to 200,000 refugees per year. As asylum quotas are not effective in Samson's view, he doesn't want to force EU countries to take in refugees; rather, they should share the reception costs. The Dutch NGO VluchtelingenWerk finds the plan unacceptable.
