Two Danish mayors in municipalities that are home to "expulsion centers" for rejected asylum seekers have said they want the facilities closed down. Ib Lauritsen, the mayor of Ikast-Brande, and Morten Slotved of Hørsholm have both said they want the asylum facilities in their towns closed. Lauritsen cited the negative feeling towards the center by locals as the main reason he wanted it closed.
