Drahomira Miklosova, the mayor of Obrnice, wants to be able to decide who can live in her town. She has repeatedly said the return of large numbers of Roma families from England is a serious issue. "You can try to integrate and start a variety of programs to make up for a certain percentage of Roma citizens in the community, but if we reach about 50 percent, it becomes unmanageable," she said. "I want to decide who can register here and who cannot." The Ministry of Human Rights commented that such a requirement is unacceptable in a democratic society like the Czech Republic.
