Amsterdam will improve and separate registration of anti-Islamic incidents and discrimination of Muslims. A majority of the city council has agreed on an initiative by liberal parties D66 and VVD. According to D66 and VVD, two out of five mosques in the Netherlands faced violent incidents. Presently, there is no registration that it concerns discrimination against Muslims, which makes the actual extent of incidents against Muslims in Amsterdam invisible. Soon, Islamophobia will be registered as a special subcategory after reporting to the police or to the Discrimination Complaints Office.
