EU Year of Cultural Heritage

On 31 January 2018, European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and the College of Commissioners will participate in the launch of the European Year of Cultural Heritage in Belgium. The aim of this Year of Cultural Heritage is to raise awareness on the social and economic impact of culture. Many events will provide the possibility to involve citizens from different cultural backgrounds. The purpose is to get people in touch with culture and to promote a sense of cultural ownership, as the EU sees culture as a driver for more unity in the EU.
