György is a Brussels-based journalist and EU expert born and raised in Hungary. He holds a Master’s Degree in European Journalism and has over a decade of experience covering EU affairs from Brussels. Among other outlets, he was a correspondent for the Hungarian economic weekly HVG and was one of the co-founders of the independent Hungarian EU affairs publication EUrologus. He has been engaged with the NGO sphere since his youth, working as an editor of a bi-weekly radio show on drug prevention and harm reduction. He also worked as the coordinator of the Hungarian Civil Liberties Union’s European Drug Policy Initiative.
György has been with Liberties since its founding. He manages website content, EU media relations and liaising with experts, media and policy-makers in Brussels.
In today’s Europe the challenge is not access to information. It’s about finding formats that successfully engage people’s minds and empower them to defend their rights and democracy against the spread of misinformation and authoritarianism.
