The United Nations is set to end its campaign with comic book heroine Wonder Woman less than two months after her appointment as an honorary ambassador to promote messages about women's empowerment and gender-based violence. Her selection sparked outrage, most notably because of her heavily "sexualized" appearance. A petition against the selection gathered nearly 45,000 signatures, although a UN spokesperson gave no reason for why the campaign featuring Wonder Woman would end on Friday.
