International law permits the use of lethal force in very restricted circumstances. But drone strikes conducted by the U.S. appear to allow for extra-judicial executions and also cause the death of many civilians. Italy hosts several U.S. military bases and has consented to allowing drones to fly from one of them. So far, there has been a complete lack of transparency on the agreement.
On September 25, CILD aims to raise awareness and ignite public debate on the issue with a conference organised with Rete Italiana per il Disarmo and ECCHR. Save the date!
