So far 222 assaults at refugee shelters were registered in Germany for 2015. Their aim was to destroy the shelters or to injure people. There has been a strong rise in the number of assaults from January to November, but only four cases led to convictions and eight to impeachment. This is the Result of an investigation by a German newspaper that evaluated publicly available data. Angela Merkel promised in September to apply all available legal means to condemn those who attack refugees. Stringent law enforcement against the criminal right looks different, says Pro Asyl.
