The United Nation’s top human rights official launched for the first time a set of global standards to protect the rights of lesbian, gay, bi, trans and intersex people at work. The good practice guide is backed by major multinational firms like Microsoft, Coca-Cola and Spotify. "The decisions that companies take – whether in respect of human resources, investment, supply chains, even marketing – can have a real and, in some cases, profound impact on human rights," said UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein at the announcement of the standards.
