The outcome of the UPR on Estonia, which reflected many important recommendations to address on-going human rights concerns, has been formally adopted by the UN Human Rights Council. Estonia has taken important steps in several areas, especially child statelessness, but more must be done. Stateless residents still do not enjoy full political rights, particularly with regard to voting and what types of jobs they may hold. Positive steps have also been taken to ensure equal rights for LGBT people, especially through the Co-Habitation Act in 2014, but its implementation has been extremely slow.
