The Dutch government supports the admission of additional refugees who arrive in the EU by boat. This is what the state secretary for security and justice, Klaas Dijkhof, stated on April 22 during a parliamentary debate on the problem of refugees. ''We take a positive view of the proposal of the EU to consider resettling refugees in emergency situations. The first step, though, is getting all member states to participate. We aim to correct the existing imbalance. So other member states that are at the bottom of the list and admit hardly anyone, will have to take part too," he said.
