The three ECtHR judges visiting Lithuania for training purposes, Egidijus Kūris, Paul Lemmens and Paul Pinto de Albuquerquane, also took a trip to the country's prisons. It is no secret that many ECtHR cases against Lithuania (and other countries) are concerned with prison conditions in particular. In their interview with teismai.lt, the judges shared their thoughts on what they saw as the most pressing human rights challenges in Europe - namely, migration, terrorism and protection of privacy, which give rise to many problematic situations with respect to various articles of the Convention.
