The vote of Britain to leave the EU makes disintegration of the 28-member block "practically irreversible," investor and philanthropist George Soros said. At the same time, he called for a major reconstruction of the EU in an attempt to save it. Soros warned publicly before the referendum about a possible financial meltdown in case British citizens decided to leave. "After Brexit, all of us who believe in the values and principles that the EU was designed to uphold must band together to save it by thoroughly reconstructing it," Soros concluded in his article published on Project Syndicate.
