A peaceful demonstration under the name "Protest march for human rights: Hijab - my right, my choice" was held this Sunday in Sarajevo. Two thousand people with banners marched through the streets of Sarajevo, warning against discrimination and human rights violations caused by the decision of the High Judicial and Prosecution Council of Bosnia and Herzegovina to ban the wearing of religious symbols in judicial institutions. The marchers said that for a Muslim woman, the hijab is not a fashion statement, but rather a statement of her identity and her religion.
