The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) has suspended the voting rights of Russia’s delegation as a show of condemnation for its role in the Ukraine crisis, although it did renew the delegation's credentials out of the need to "foster dialogue." For the 2015 session, Russian members will lose the right to be appointed as rapporteurs, to observe elections or to represent the Parliamentary Assembly in other bodies. PACE has also called on Russian authorities to release Ukrainian pilot Nadiya Savchenko within 24 hours and ensure her safe passage to Ukraine or a third country.
