Poland's minister of the interior, Mariusz Błaszczak, has presented draft amendments to the law on granting protection to aliens. These changes aim to introduce a simplified procedure for granting international protection to foreigners and placing refugees in detention centers for the duration of the proceedings. Moreover, It is planned to create a list of safe third countries and safe countries of origin. According to a statement from the minister, the planned changes should increase the level of security in Poland. However, the HFHR claims that the proposals relate to non-existent threats.
