Repubblica and Antigone’s journey into Italian prisons continues with a new episode on university education in prison. “The average recidivism rate is unfortunately around 70 percent, while among those who have the possibility to study, work or benefit from alternative measures, it is around 15-20 percent. It is a big difference,” says a detainee who graduated from the University of Turin while serving his prison sentence.
