In the San Michele penitentiary in Alessandria, a new program offers the 300 prisoners the opportunity to grow fruits and vegetables on the land around the prison, which is now used for the cultivation of organic produce. This is an amazing way to create formative activities for inmates, offering them the possibility to go into the agricultural sector upon their release. It is really important to give meaning and purpose to the time of detention, and this program allows prisoners to reinvent themselves and become farmers, beekeepers and bakers. This is an initiative worth spreading!
