by LibertiesEU

Strategic litigation-focused human rights group PILP, from the Netherlands, will join the Civil Liberties Union for Europe (Liberties) as a new member organisation as of 1 January 2024; the move was approved at Liberties’ annual general assembly meeting.

“We are excited to join the Liberties network as PILP. We look forward to sharing insights regarding strategic litigation and movement lawyering methods and are committed to work with Liberties and the partners to achieve the highest possible levels of impact regarding the protection and promotion of human rights within the EU”, PILP executive director said.

“With its impressive experience in human rights advocacy and strategic litigation in the Netherlands, PILP's new membership of Liberties will further strengthen the network of human rights defenders at EU level and provide meaningful opportunities for cooperation with other member organisations”, said Balazs Denes, executive director at Liberties.

With PILP's accession, Liberties will have a total of 19 member organisations from 18 EU Member States including Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Estonia, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Ireland, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden.
