Hanna Suchocka’s term of office as Poland’s representative on the Venice Commission ended on April 29, and the Polish minister of foreign affairs decided that she would not stay there for another term. However, the Commission elected her its honorary president by acclamation. This will enable her to actively participate in the work of the Venice Commission, although formally she will not be a member. Hanna Suchocka had been Poland’s representative on the Commission since 1991.
