In the context of the ongoing process of regulating immigration detention at the Council of Europe level, CILD has joined the International Detention Coalition and others in a joint statement advocating for a fundamentally different approach to immigration detention - one which puts human rights first and relies more and more on alternatives to detention.
CILD has also presented its own statement, stressing and specifying the view shared with international partners, with some of its national member organizations (Antigone, A Buon Diritto, Avvocati per niente, Naga and Progetto Diritti).
