MEPs' wait for a long overdue legal opinion on the transparency reform on meeting lobbyists and how they can spend taxpayers money before they vote goes on. Parliamentarians have wanted a joint European Commission, EU Council and European Parliament shared transparency register for years, but the latest delays have raised questions about their true intentions. Earlier this year a new measure on disclosing how MEPs spend a lump sum of 4,400 euros a month was watered down by leaders of the EP, as part of the draft legislation.
