It’s now nearly a month since the country's ruling party came into conflict the management of Lithuanian National Radio and Television (LRT). Accusing the latter of lacking transparency, politicians from the Farmers and Greens Union demanded that LRT submit reports and supporting documentation. When they did not receive all that was asked, they initiated the creation of a parliamentary commission to investigate the activities of the LRT. Meanwhile, the management of LRT and the opposition in Parliament think this is an attempt to silence independent media and fear a "Polish scenario".
