Lithuanian organizations working in the field of mental health have publicly criticized a member of parliament's proposal to completely ban gender reassignment procedures, thus restricting transgender rights even more. An open letter signed by 14 organizations states that comprehensive assistance (professional psychologist, psychiatrist, endocrinologist and surgeon services) should be available to transgender individuals.
