Hungarian researchers have analysed the results of the biennial public study carried out in Europe from 2002 to 2016 and found that acceptance of same sex relationships has increased in many European countries. In contrast, Lithuania, Belarus, Bulgaria, Poland, and Ukraine have become less accepting. The greatest positive shifts occurred in Spain and Portugal (where same sex marriage is legal), as well as Cyprus, Italy, and Greece (where civil partnerships are legal).
