During the EU summit held on February 3, a new policy was introduced supporting the closure of EU borders. Italy subsequently concluded an agreement with Libya to stop the influx of its immigrants in Italy, in exchange for military support and economic funding. The actions of the EU and Italy have been criticized by Italian association ASGI as a violation of the principles of international and constitutional law, namely the principle of non-refoulement.

We support ASGI's firm request that the EU and Italy immediately stop violating fundamental law and revoke the Libyan agreement.
