Olivera Lakić, an investigative reporter who covers crime and corruption in Montenegro, was wounded outside her home in the country’s second attack on a journalist in a month. She was taken to a hospital in the capital city of Podgorica and is reported to be out of danger. Police are now investigating the case and reviewing CCTV cameras in the area. Lakić was attacked six years ago too after she wrote a series of articles about alleged murky dealings over a tobacco factory. Montenegro Prime Minister Duško Marković condemned the attack and urged a “swift and efficient investigation”.
