Yesterday the Hungarian Parliament formally approved the credit agreement between Russia and Hungary, which is necessary for financing the development of the nuclear plant at Paks. Findings of impact assessments and analyses supporting the decision remain unknown, and Energiaklub (Energy Club), representing HCLU, has discovered that the government has failed to follow even its own rules: it has not conducted any examinations or assessments. Thus the present decision is grossly irresponsible and contradicts national interests.
