Some 800 people have tried to enter Spain by storming a border fence that separates Morocco and the Spanish North African enclave of Ceuta. The incident occurred on Thursday, just as the Spanish prime minister, Pedro Sánchez, was to meet the French president, Emmanuel Macron, to discuss EU migration policies. Spain's Civil Guard said 602 people had succeeded in reaching Ceuta, 586 of whom had been taken to a temporary reception center. Sixteen required hospital treatment.
