During his visit to the frontier stations of the Ignalina and Vilnius Frontier Districts, Seimas (Parliamentary) Ombudsman Augistinas Normantas uncovered significant human rights violations taking place. He found that the confinement of detainees was not recorded in the Register of Persons Delivered, and that people held in the stations were not informed of the video surveillance in place. However, the ombudsman also noted that the State Border Guard Service reacted promptly to the allegations - many problems will be remedied by the end of the year, others by summer 2015.
