The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has ruled in an urgent case filed on Monday by Berlin-based NGO Sea-Watch that Italy must provide assistance to migrants on the stranded rescue ship Sea-Watch 3. ECHR said Rome must provide the 47 migrants aboard with food, drink and medical assistance. However, the court did not rule that the migrants must be allowed to disembark the vessel. The ship is currently waiting off the cost of Sicily. Germany, France, Portugal, Romania and Malta are willing to accept the migrants, Italy's prime minister Giuseppe Conte claimed at the Med7 summit in Cyprus.
