Google and Bing search engines are not required to automatically censor "torrent" related searches, the High Court of Paris has decided. The judgment states that the request by SNEP, the local music industry interest representation group, was too broad and targets legitimate content as well. Music and video industry groups for years have demanded that search engines censor search results showing torrent sites. Before the High Court of Paris, the music group argued that, when paired with the artist names, "torrent" related searches predominantly link to pirated content.
