When the border was still open, he gave them a roof and food, when the border was closed, he helped them cross it. His name is Cedric Herrou, a French farmer who lives on the border with Italy. He is now facing trial for facilitating people smuggling, but he still proudly defends his position: "If I have to break the law to help people, I will do it." We all stand with Herrou against the absurdity of him being brought to court for being humane. The spread of crimes of solidarity around Europe must be firmly rejected.
