Stefano Anastasia, philosopher, sociologist of law and researcher at the University of Perugia, has been appointed as the new Latium prison ombudsman. He has great experience in the field of human rights and the prison system. He was one of the founders of the association Antigone, of which he was president from 1999 to 2005, when he was elected president of the National Conference of Volunteer Justice. Between 2003 and 2006, he collaborated to establish the first office for the protection of detainees' rights. In 2006, he became head of the secretariat of the undersecretary of justice.
